Staff CRNAs often find themselves functioning in the capacity of clinical instructors for nurse anesthesia students. In order to utilize the clinical environment as an educational forum and maximize the quality of the student's learning experiences, evaluations are a vital tool. Instructor evaluation of student performance is the subject of much highly publicized material. However, the purpose of this article is to illustrate and reinforce the important role of student evaluation of clinical instructors, and how an effective evaluation instrument can be tailored to individual school/department systems.
